AccountCopy

Follow a selected MT5 account with a clear source and destination.

AccountCopy observes a source MT5 account through a separate terminal and links eligible new positions to your chosen destination. You select the accounts, sizing and mapping before the source is enabled.

Separate observation from execution

The documented workflow uses a distinct source terminal for observation. Source and destination identities must differ, and the source reader does not submit trading orders. Readiness depends on the actual connection to each account.

  • Confirm which account provides the positions and which receives the copies.
  • Review symbol mapping and the destination broker's contract requirements.
  • Use the documented Windows workflow; Linux execution remains under qualification.

Follow eligible new position changes

AccountCopy supports new source positions after required stop and target details are available, plus permitted protection changes and partial or full closes. The destination follows the selected policy and its own broker constraints.

  • Existing source positions at connection establish a baseline and are not opened retrospectively.
  • Pending orders are not copied before they become positions.
  • An increase in source volume does not automatically increase destination volume.

Treat account changes as deliberate decisions

Changing an account or source binding requires checks of ownership, existing exposure and current activity. A missing or incomplete source update is not treated as evidence that its positions have closed.

  • Check the actual destination state when a result is uncertain.
  • Stopping a source does not liquidate its destination positions.
  • Plan sizing around the destination account rather than assuming identical conditions at both brokers.

FAQ

Will connecting copy trades that are already open?

No. Existing source positions establish the starting baseline. AccountCopy follows eligible new positions after connection and source enablement; it does not replay historical entries.

Can source and destination use the same terminal?

The documented workflow requires separate source and destination terminal paths and distinct account identities. The source is observed through a dedicated reader so it is not used as the destination trading terminal.

Are pending orders and volume increases copied?

Pending source orders are not copied before they turn into positions. A later increase in source volume does not automatically add volume to the destination. Review these limits against your intended strategy before use.

What happens if the source connection is interrupted?

An incomplete or missing source view does not authorize closing destination positions. Review connection health and actual account state before continuing. An uncertain trading result is not automatically retried as though no trade occurred.
